How and why collectively manage and own technology

Internet users interact with online content under different rules, depending on the service they are using. Facebook has different data access policies than Google has. Likewise, national governments have different data access policies than companies do. There are as many policy flavors as organizations implementing them.

These rules are decided within those organizations. Users of modern day internet should not only have knowledge of those decisions, but also have a voice in them.

One way to give users voice is to allow proposing and voting on features the platform should implement. Users should have the ability to discuss any questions about the platform.
